ArcelorMittal renews Ecovadis Gold rating for CSR

ArcelorMittal has renewed the Gold Recognition Level based on its EcoVadis sustainability rating, which places the Company as a reference supplier within the railway sector.

International initiative "Railsponsible"

Ecovadis is the first independent collaboration platform that evaluates the quality of the CSR* management system of railway industry suppliers. It aims is to improve environmental and social practices of companies by leveraging the influence of global supply chains.

Framed in the international initiative "Railsponsible", the objective is to facilitate the integration of sustainability criteria in the relationships between customers and suppliers.

   

Every year, around 20,000 suppliers across 150 sectors and 110 countries undergo Ecovadis certification, which allows companies to manage the risks associated with the supply chain and extend CSR policies in their value chain. It has been demonstrated that the application of an adequate sustainability strategy helps to increase companies’ competitiveness, constitutes a pole of attraction for investors and shareholders, generates credibility in the market and brings confidence to customers.

The Ecovadis assessment methodology covers 21 criteria across four themes of environment, fair labour practices, ethics/fair business practices and supply chain  The methodlogy is built on internationally recognised sustainability and CSR standards including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the United Nations Global Compact  and the ISO 26000 standard.
