ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Carbon Products delivers pre-bended 60R1 grooved rail for track replacement in a small radios 24-meter curve for Bilbao tramway.
Track renovation works have been conducted in January 2022 by Tecsa Empresa Constructora, S.A for Euskal Trenbide Sarea – Red Ferroviaria Vasca (ETS-RFV), next to Arriaga Theatre, iconic building in the city center of Bilbao which opened in 1890.
The use of Low Carbon R290V steel grade for grooved rail was trusted to provide best possible performance specially on tight curves: very high resistance to wear including, easier overall maintenance, welding and repair welding, increasing the service life of embedded track.
