The German rail company Deutsche Bahn next year will invest 4,400M€ in modernizing the rail network, especially the routes between Hamburg and Hannover, from Berlin to Rostock and from Munich to Salzburg

Deutsche Bahn announced that the modernization is for nearly 3,000 kilometers of rail, 1,750 pins and more than 2 million sleepers.

Other routes such as Nürnberg-Saalfeld-Hannover, Emmerich, Oberhausen-Duisburg and the area of Leipzig will also be modernized.

The modernization of the 34,000 kilometre network is the requirement to strengthen and speed up traffic on the rail lines, according to Deutsche Bahn.
